Internship Program

Purpose

The City of Greenfield firmly believes it is important to invest in training our young adults who are entering the workforce. That is why we launched the city's Internship Program in 2022 tailored to young adults aged 18 - 24. Our initiative aims to equip participants with valuable real-world work experience while offering insights into the workings of local government and its vital role of serving the community. Interns are actively engaged in meaningful tasks within their chosen departments, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as soft skills development, interview techniques, budgeting workshops, resume building, and more. By nurturing young talent and providing essential training, we strive to empower the next generation of leaders and contributors to our community's success. This is a paid internship opportunity. Each term is between 3 to 4 months long.

Expansion of the Internship

The City of Greenfield applied for and received a grant from the Californians for All: Youth Service Corps that will allow us to expand this internship program and serve more participants. California Volunteers’ mission is to empower and mobilize Californians to actively help tackle state and local challenges through volunteer and service action. The program has 3 primary goals; increase youth employment, develop career pathways, and strengthen city/community capacity to address key areas of food insecurity, climate, education, and public service.
